The cost of to airlift an injured or orphaned elephant to the sanctuary is $5,000. Life at the nursery in unpredictable and at any moment we can be called in to do a rescue. Rescuing orphans can be a logistical nightmare but over the years and through experience we have developed protocols that enable to get these babies back to the sanctuary in an efficient and safe way. Using a plane, an experienced team, and our veterinarian we have rescued babies from some of the most remote parts of the country.
